
MOBILE, Ala. — High school football is officially back on the Gulf Coast, with Week 0 producing rivalry drama, shutouts and several statement victories across Mobile and Baldwin counties.
The week began Thursday night at The Hill, where Spanish Fort rallied past Daphne, 18–15, in the latest chapter of the Eastern Shore rivalry. The Toros overcame a Daphne defensive touchdown and scored late to secure the three-point victory.
Friday brought a full slate of action across the area. Gulf Shores opened with a 30–21 victory over Parklane Academy, while Baldwin County defeated B.C. Rain, 40–22. Orange Beach earned a 24–14 win over T.R. Miller, giving the Makos an early-season victory.
Several Mobile-area programs turned in dominant performances. McGill-Toolen defeated Foley 52–35, while Pace shut out Fairhope 41–0. Williamson did the same to Baker, winning 33–0, and Escambia County blanked Elberta 60–0.
Saraland began its season with a 33–14 win over Mary G. Montgomery, with the Spartans producing 367 yards of offense in the victory.
Elsewhere, LeFlore defeated Robertsdale 22–16, Bayshore Christian beat Fruitdale 14–6, Theodore topped Davidson 37–20, and St. Paul’s Episcopal defeated Alma Bryant 58–28. Citronelle earned a 22–13 victory over Jackson, while Mobile Christian shut out McIntosh 36–0. Lagniappe highlighted wins by Citronelle, LeFlore and Bayshore among Friday night’s notable local results.
Satsuma defeated Chickasaw 44–20, Cottage Hill Christian rolled past Millry 53–0, and Jackson Prep edged UMS-Wright 42–35.

Vigor and Blount meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the final Mobile-area game of the opening weekend. Vigor enters the season after winning last year’s meeting 21–6 and holds a 40–14 advantage in the historical series.
