MOBILE, Ala. — Week 1 of the 2026 high school football season is officially in the books, and Friday night brought everything from one-point thrillers to dominant shutouts across Mobile and Baldwin counties.
Gulf Shores made a statement in the Southbound Sports Game of the Week, Foley knocked off Spanish Fort, Fairhope responded in a big way after a difficult opener, and several Mobile-area programs picked up their first victories of the season.
Here’s a look around the area at the Week 1 final scores.
Gulf Shores 34, St. Paul’s 10
One of the biggest results of the night came in Gulf Shores, where the Dolphins rolled past St. Paul’s 34-10 in the Southbound Sports Game of the Week.
Gulf Shores entered Friday after a 30-21 opening-week victory over Parklane Academy and followed it with an even more impressive performance against the Saints.
The victory moves the Dolphins to 2-0 and gives Gulf Shores plenty of momentum heading deeper into the season.

Foley 28, Spanish Fort 25
Foley responded in a big way Friday night.
After falling 52-35 to McGill-Toolen in its opener, the Lions bounced back with a 28-25 victory over Spanish Fort.
The loss drops a Spanish Fort team that entered Week 1 with momentum following its 18-15 opening-week victory over Daphne.

Fairhope 33, Baldwin County 21
Few teams needed a response more than Fairhope after the Pirates suffered a 41-0 loss to Pace in Week 0.
They got one.
Fairhope defeated Baldwin County 33-21 to pick up its first victory of the season. The Pirates produced 308 yards of offense, including 162 on the ground and 146 through the air.
Baldwin County falls to 1-1 after opening its season with a 40-22 win over B.C. Rain.

Blount 44, B.C. Rain 43
One point separated Blount and B.C. Rain in one of the closest games on the Week 1 slate.
The Leopards escaped with a 44-43 victory, giving Blount its first win following a 28-7 loss to Vigor in Week 0.
B.C. Rain falls to 0-2 after another high-scoring performance wasn’t quite enough.

LeFlore 28, Davidson 27
Another Mobile matchup came down to a single point.
LeFlore edged Davidson 28-27, giving the Rattlers their second victory in as many weeks after beating Robertsdale 22-16 in the opener.
Davidson falls to 0-2 following close losses to Theodore and LeFlore.

Baker 24, Theodore 14
Baker got exactly the response it was looking for.
After being shut out by Williamson in Week 0, the Hornets rebounded with a 24-14 win over Theodore.
The Bobcats entered Friday after a 37-20 victory over Davidson, but Baker prevented them from making it a 2-0 start.

Bayside Academy 29, Jackson 18
Bayside Academy remained unbeaten with a 29-18 victory over Jackson.
The Admirals are now 2-0 after opening their season with a 14-6 victory over Fruitdale. Jackson, meanwhile, falls to 0-2 after losses to Citronelle and Bayside.

Daphne 21, Carver-Montgomery 7
Daphne picked up its first win of the season with a 21-7 victory over Carver-Montgomery.
The Trojans entered Friday looking to respond after a narrow 18-15 loss to Spanish Fort in their opener and did exactly that, holding Carver to seven points.

Vigor 47, Mary G. Montgomery 3
Vigor continues to look like one of the area’s strongest teams early in the season.
The Wolves followed their 28-7 opening victory over Blount by overwhelming Mary G. Montgomery 47-3.
Through two games, Vigor has outscored its opponents 75-10.

Citronelle 56, Washington County 19
Citronelle’s strong start continued Friday.
After knocking off Jackson 22-13 in Week 0, the Wildcats exploded offensively in a 56-19 win over Washington County.
Citronelle moves to 2-0 after scoring 78 points through its first two games.

Orange Beach 56, Monroe County 0
There wasn’t much drama in Orange Beach.
The Makos dominated Monroe County 56-0, producing one of the most lopsided results anywhere in the Southbound coverage area Friday night.
After beating T.R. Miller 24-14 in Week 0, Orange Beach is now 2-0 and has outscored its first two opponents 80-14.

Satsuma 58, R.C. Hatch 0
Orange Beach wasn’t the only local team posting a shutout.
Satsuma rolled to a 58-0 victory over R.C. Hatch, following up its 44-20 opening-week win over Chickasaw.
The Gators have now scored 102 points through two games while starting the season 2-0.

UMS-Wright 13, Mountain Brook 6
Points were harder to come by in UMS-Wright’s matchup with Mountain Brook, but the Bulldogs did enough.
UMS-Wright earned a 13-6 victory, bouncing back after its 42-35 opening-week loss to Jackson Prep.

Alma Bryant 23, Greenville 20
Alma Bryant also found the win column Friday.
The Hurricanes edged Greenville 23-20 after surrendering 58 points against St. Paul’s in their opener.

Chickasaw 34, Bayshore Christian 18
Chickasaw earned its first victory of the year with a 34-18 win over Bayshore Christian.
The Chieftains responded after falling 44-20 to Satsuma in Week 0.

Andalusia 31, Robertsdale 9
Robertsdale couldn’t get into the win column against Andalusia.
The Bulldogs fell 31-9, dropping Robertsdale to 0-2 following its 22-16 opening loss to LeFlore.

Presbyterian Christian 31, Mobile Christian 13
Mobile Christian traveled across state lines but couldn’t come home with the victory.
Presbyterian Christian of Mississippi defeated the Leopards 31-13.

Murphy also remains in search of a victory following a 27-7 loss to Park Crossing.

Week 1 Is in the Books
From Gulf Shores’ 24-point victory over St. Paul’s to the one-point finishes between Blount and B.C. Rain and LeFlore and Davidson, Week 1 delivered plenty to talk about.
Several teams have also started separating themselves from the pack. Gulf Shores, Vigor, Citronelle, Orange Beach, Bayside Academy and Satsuma are among the programs in the Southbound coverage area carrying unbeaten records into the next week.
